Further information

The Workshop aims to examine the challenges and opportunities related to the decarbonization of the maritime transport sector for Caribbean Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). It will foster information exchange among a diverse set of stakeholders throughout the maritime value chain.

The Workshop will provide a platform for interactive discussions focusing on the implementation of the 2023 IMO GHG Strategy and identifying specific transition needs within the Caribbean context. It will also explore how Caribbean SIDS and LDCs can leverage the benefits of the maritime green energy transition while addressing potential maritime transport impacts. Additionally, the Workshop will explore synergies between the maritime transport, climate, and environmental sectors for cohesive policy actions towards resilient port infrastructure and other development opportunities.
