IMO Awards Ceremony 2023

The annual IMO Awards Ceremony for 2023 will be held at IMO Headquarters on Monday 27 November 2023.

The 2023 IMO Awards Ceremony took place on Monday, 27 November 2023, at 5.00 p.m. London time. It was live streamed at https://streaming.imo.org.

The event was held at IMO Headquarters in London, and saw the presentation of the International Maritime Prize for 2022 and the 2023 IMO Awards for Exceptional Bravery at Sea.

International Maritime Prize for 2022

The prestigious International Maritime Prize for 2022 was awarded to Ms. Anneliese Jost, nominated by Germany. Please see more information here.

There were two nominees for the International Maritime Prize 2022. To honour his contribution to the work of IMO, this year's second nominee, Captain David J.F. Bruce, nominated by the Marshall Islands, who sadly passed away recently, was recognized with a special certificate presented to his family at the awards ceremony.

2023 IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea

The 2023 IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea was awarded to Aviation Survival Technician Second Class of the United States Coast Guard (USCG), Caleb Halle, nominated by the United States. Please see more information here.

Also, Certificates of Commendation, in recognition of their acts of bravery, were awarded to the crew of a tug vessel, nominated by Australia;  a subsistence fisher, nominated by Brazil;  the crew of a fishing vessel, nominated by China; and a rescue swimmer,  nominated by the United States. Please see more information here.
