The UK branch of WISTA, the organisation for women working in the shipping industry, held its annual dinner at IMO Headquarters yesterday (July 30). Celebrating 40 years since its formation, WISTA UK counts naval architects, maritime lawyers, ship's engineers, insurance and sale-and-purchase brokers, claims adjusters and many others among its members. IMO’s Pamela Tansey spoke at the event, highlighting IMO’s work to further the cause of gender equality in shipping.
