Bali, Indonesia, is hosting the latest in a series of IMO regional seminars aimed at ratification and implementation of the 2012 Cape Town Agreement on safety of fishing vessels. The sub-regional seminar on the ratification and implementation of the Cape Town Agreement (13-17 April) is being attended by participants from 12 countries in the east and southeast Asia region, where more than 70% of the global fishing fleet is based. The seminar is being held in consultation with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) facilitated by IMO’s Mrs. Sandra Allnutt from IMO and the FAO’s Mr. Ari Gudmundsson. Fishing continues to be considered the most hazardous occupation in the world. (Photo:ISSF)
