Staff from IMO’s Maritime Safety Division, including technical officers from the Subdivision for Operational Safety and Human Element, gained some first-hand knowledge of vessel traffic services when they visited the Port of London Authority (PLA) Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) (on 16 January). Discussions on current and emerging trends in vessel traffic services were followed by a visit to the PLA bridge simulator and a chance to see the London VTS in operation.
