Unlawful acts threatening passenger security and the safety of ships are on the agenda at a United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) meeting in Vienna, Austria (26-27 August). IMO’s Dorota Lost-Sieminska is delivering a presentation on the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against the Safety of Maritime Navigation (SUA Convention) and related protocol, which cover a range of issues, including acts of violence against persons on board ships, boarding provisions and extradition procedures.
The presentation comes as part of a range of topics being discussed at the UNODC Expert Group Meeting on the Development of a Training Module on the International Legal Framework against Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Terrorism.
