Morocco has ratified two important IMO treaties that help to protect the marine environment – the International Convention on Salvage (1989) and the 1996 Protocol to the Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matter (1972). H.H. Princess Lalla Joumala Alaoui, Ambassador of Morocco to the United Kingdom, met IMO Secretary-General Kitack Lim at IMO Headquarters, London (25 February) to hand over the instruments of ratification.
