A national training course supporting the implementation of IMO treaties is taking place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia (29 February – 4 March). The course provides an overview of the latest developments relating to the implementation of IMO instruments to officials from key governmental departments, particularly those with duties relating to flag State implementation (FSI) and port State control (PSC). The different obligations of the flag State, as required by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and various IMO instruments will also be covered.
IMO’s regional coordinator Josephine Uranza is representing IMO at the event, which is being run by a team of IMO consultants.
