A national workshop dealing with oil spill contingency planning, funded by IMO, is taking place in Dominica. It includes an IMO oil spill response awareness session (30 March) attended by officials from Dominica’s Government and petroleum industry. The workshop participants will then work with RAC/REMPEITC-Caribe and Polaris Applied Sciences to update Dominica’s national oil spill contingency plan, incorporating Environmental Sensitivity Maps, which were developed in 2012 with the help of IMO Technical Cooperation assistance.

The oil spill response awareness session was presented by the RAC/REMPEITC-Caribe in coordination with Dominica's Ministry of Public Works and Ports and hosted by the Office of Disaster Management.
