Maritime education and training, this year’s World Maritime Day theme, was one of the matters discussed during a courtesy call by His Excellency Dr Karanja Kibicho (CBS), Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs & International Trade, Kenya and His Excellency Mr Lazarus Ombai Amayo, High Commissioner for Kenya to the United Kingdom and Permanent Representative of Kenya to IMO, to IMO Secretary-General Sekimizu at IMO Headquarters today (21 May).
Earlier this year, Secretary-General Sekimizu visited Kenya and spoke about the importance of maritime education and training as a catalyst for development of Africa’s blue economy. Read the Secretary-General’s blog about the trip here.
