A training seminar on the MARPOL Convention is being held in Bangkok, Thailand (29 August to 2 September), to keep stakeholders in the region aware of the latest amendments to the convention. 48 participants from 13 countries are attending the seminar which is being hosted by the Marine Department of Thailand.
Special focus will be placed on the mandatory application of the Implementation of IMO Instruments Code and the Polar Code.
The seminar is supported by the Maritime and Ports Authority of Singapore together with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. For the first time, it will feature an internet-led session, part of a new initiative pioneered by IMO to deliver more training modules in this way.
