Romania has acceded to the Nairobi International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks, the IMO treaty providing the legal basis for States to remove, or have removed, shipwrecks that may threaten the safety of lives, goods and property at sea, as well as the marine environment. H.E. Mr. Sorin-Dan Mihalache, Ambassador of Romania to the United Kingdom, met IMO Secretary-General and deposited the instrument of ratification (20 September).
