Junior Professionals Officer Programme
The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme is an established programme within the United Nations.
The main objective of the JPO Programme is to provide young professionals with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of multilateral international cooperation through a learning experience under the supervision of specialists, and to contribute to the advancement and furtherance of their organization's mandate. It is a mutually beneficial relationship, while Member States have the opportunity to provide hands-on experience to their young professionals, the Organization benefits from an addition to its own staffing complement.
JPO positions are nominated and financed by a Member State. Only nominations submitted through the respective sponsoring Member State will be considered. No direct applications will be accepted.
JPO positions are independent from, and additional to, the posts financed by the Organization's regular budget. In nominating candidates for a position in the programme, sponsoring Member States agree to bear the responsibility of all costs related to the JPO.
