Voice of freedom

An Indian seafarer held hostage for nearly four years by Somali pirates was at IMO Headquarters yesterday (29 September). Aman Kumar Sharma, one of 11 crew members of the MV Albedo released in June this year, spoke at an event organised by the Maritime Piracy Humanitarian Response Programme.

Topics on the agenda include: review of the FAL Convention; electronic access to, or electronic versions of, certificates and documents; matters related to stowaways; and training of mooring personnel.
